Description: Because the charros and match racers were circling his pen his auction price was very high but worth it to secure the safety of this boy. Between his workout and the auction Guinness somehow developed a suspected suspensory and cellulitis. He is also underweight and suffering from bad feet. Guinness will be in rehab with us for a while and then we will assess what he might be capable of as a second career. Guinness needs support and sponsors to help him through a costly and lengthy rehab period.
February 2016 Update: Upon intake, we noticed that Super Reagan had a significantly swollen left front. We suspected some sort of injury, most specifically a suspensory ligament injury. Upon ultrasound, it was confirmed that he sustained a significant suspensory injury and would need 6-9 months of rehabilitation. Collectively, we decided that sending him to Eclipse Equine for rehabilitation would be in his best interest. Eclipse has the advanced therapeutic modalities available to them that will give Super Reagan rehabilitate to the best of his ability. Please help him by donating on his page. Update October 2016: We are pleased to announce that Guinness, has been transferred to our friends at Humanity for Horses to go into sanctuary. Guinness suffered a severe suspensory injury at the hands of cruel Charros in what is known as match racing. We found him at auction December 2015.
Although Guinness was rehabbing nicely and to the surprise of everyone made more progress than at first hoped we thought it best to permanently retire him as he could only be used in future for very light arena riding. Upon arrival we received this kind note: “Such a sweet soul! All he wanted was some kisses and hugs from me which I gladly gave him.” Yes, he’s forevermore safe and has been delivered into loving hands.
