Description:

Update April 2019: We are pleased and excited to let you know that Neigh Savers is now the proud owner of race track warrior Toccet’s Charm! We bought him in a claiming race at Turf Paradise. Although the trainer had previously committed to selling him to us, he then secretly entered him into a last race after the agreement was made. We got around him and bought the horse for less than he would have gotten in the private sale by claiming him and then ghosted the trainer for his bad behavior No matter all of that, now he’s going to enjoy his well-earned retirement with Kim, who has been riding since the age of 6, in rural Northern California…surrounded by a menagerie of equine and other animals, nearly all rescues that Kim cares for. His equine companions will be Archie, a 20 yo TB, Cody, a 15 yo Quarter Horse, and Remi, a 13 yo Oldenburg. Additionally, there are 4 minis, all rescues….Apollo, Zeus, Billy Idol & Bruno Mars.

Toccet’s Charm raced extensively and covered both the United States and Canada. He raced 36 times at Hastings Park in Vancouver and 23 times, including his last race, at Turf Paradise in Arizona. He also raced in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Illinois,
Washington and several other states. Toccet raced in a black type Grade 3 stakes race at Monmouth Park in New Jersey and was entered in numerous stakes races as well. He was named Champion Virginia bred 2 year old male after winning the $50,000 Jamestown race at Colonial Downs in Virginia
and coming in second in the $75,000 Dover S at Delaware Park.

Toccet’s Charm also has a distinguished and storied pedigree on both sides of his family tree. He is by Toccet and out of the mare Ruler’s Charm (Cape Town). On his sire’s side his grandsire is Awesome Again and his granddam is Cozzene’s Angel by Cozzene. Of course, Cape Town is by Seeking the Gold who is by Mr. Prospector.  Blue bloods all the way. These horses usually have a sort of regal bearing and stand out from the crowd. Even so, Toccet spent most of his career in blue collar claiming races and even with 113 starts earned only $288,411. That’s still extremely good at about $2,500 a start and he did pay his own bills although recently his earnings have slipped significantly.
