Red Sarah

Red Sarah

Red Sarah is a 2006 16 hh mare. She is a flashy mare with much chrome. Red Sarah, barn name Nenah, has been used as a broodmare. She is unraced and it is unknown if she has ever been ridden. This kind mare is curious and inquisitive. Nenah is transitioning from a life confined without much human or other horse interaction. She is currently enjoying a five acre pasture with other horses and is looking for a home where someone will spend time, socialize her, and start teaching her a new job.

Nenah is one of the Lancaster 19. These horses were simply warehoused and given just basic food and water in a dry and unforgiving facility.  They did not know the kindness of a human touch, were kept in small chain link pens, never had the opportunity to exercise, socialize or run free. For all practical purposes they were in a horse prison and served nothing more than a reproductive function.

Update August 2016:  Red Sarah has been adopted by Hoofbeats Equestrian and is enjoying her new home in Elk Grove, CA.
