Houston

We are excited to welcome Houston to Neigh Savers! Houston is a six year old, 14.2 hand, grade quarter horse who came to us in search of a new home. Houston was rescued by a good Samaritan from a Texas feed lot, and brought to California to be started as a riding horse. His owner thought that, with his kind a calm demeanor, he could become a kids horse. He was placed in a lesson program to learn the ropes, but showed signs that he needed a steady rider who can help him build his confidence under saddle. He has been trail ridden and is solid w/t/c in the ring. This boy is truly a gem and bonds quickly with people. He is honest and will give you his very best if he knows he’s safe. Houston is sound and easy to handle on the ground, but he is not a beginners horse since he is still requires leadership.

All vet records can be provided. He has been well cared for.

Update February 2023:  Houston has been adopted by Kim Bredehoft of Horse and Rider Connection.  Kim has adopted many horses from us over the years (and helped retrain a few for adoption as well).  He’ll be well looked after in her barn.
