Description: Griffin was found at auction as a 2-year-old in Southern California and transferred to our program at Bear Creek Stables. For the first 6 months, he was conditioned on the trails with a seasoned trail horse.  He loves to jump and has received three months of professional dressage and event training with Sigourney Jellins of SLJ Eventing and Dressage in Half Moon Bay, California.  He is a favorite of barn manager, Jenny Whitman.

Advanced handlers only.

Update June 2018:  It’s been a long road for our former auction horse Grifter’s Mark (Griffin). We initially received a mentally abused horse that was physically sound and as it turns out very talented.  It took the Bear Creek Stables’ team two years to turn him around and he was adopted.  His new adopters were not equipped to handle him and unfortunately didn’t have the time to work with him either.  Thus, he was essentially confined to a stall with little or no turnout until he was returned to us nearly a year later.  Now more than 18 months after his return Griffin has finally found his forever home with Jay D.  Jay understands Griffin and appreciates him for who he is.  We couldn’t be happier about this adoption and where Griffin will be stabled…in the beautiful Monterey area.  Congratulations to Griff and Jay and thank you tenacious volunteers at Bear Creek Stables who never gave up on this boy.
