Description: As a two-year-old, Montana as purchased at auction for $125,000 by internationally renowned trainer and Triple Crown winner Bob Baffert. Shortly thereafter, he suffered tendon injuries and was retired from racing. Neigh Savers rescued him and sent him to Bear Creek Stables to become a trail horse. With a very strong work ethic, Montana loves to please and is calm and level headed on the trail.

Update February 2018: It was a successful trip to the Sierras just outside of Yosemite National Park for barn manager Jenny Whitman and Executive Director Karin Wagner as we delivered Red Sky (Montana) and he was reunited with his NS brother Sarazua (Zack) as shown in these first touching moments. As you can tell Montana feels right at home and is as relaxed as can be in his deeply bedded mare motel paddock. He joins P.D., a 32 yo OTTB, making it an OTTB gelding threesome. Vikki (shown with Montana upon arrival) has had 5 OTTBs and all have lived over 30 years. Vikki was quite tearful when we delivered Montana as he is the spitting image of her dearly departed Wish. Don’t you all love a happy ending? We sure do!!
