Description: This well bred gelding had a successful career and would have continued racing but started coming up very sore after his races. We received him in a beat up shape. His racing plates had been torn off all fours and he had a very bad trim so poor Kyle could barely walk. In his condition, Kyle could not be shod and his feet had to be wrapped in iodine. While unshod he bruised his feet, making a difficult situation even more difficult. Until we can get all 4 of his feet right again, Kyle will not be available for adoption.

Despite Kyle’s discomfort he is a darling boy…extremely personable and friendly. He whinnies a greeting whenever he sees someone he recognizes and fortunately has a healthy appetite. We have high hopes for him down the road but sometimes it just takes a lot of time. Thankfully, this sweet boy has all the time he needs with Neigh Savers. Stay tuned!!

Update September 2021:  He’s back in our care and Jennifer Osborne of Fire & Ice Horses did an excellent job doing most of his rehab. Sadly, he still has a ways to go until he stabilizes on his feet but he’s carrying good weight and seems very comfortable and happy. I didn’t realize how big he is…16.3 and a giant bundle of love. Down the road I think an adopter will be very happy to have him for any low impact activity.

Update December 2021:  He continues to improve and the most optimistic prognosis is that maybe someday he’ll be a light riding horse or sweet companion for someone.  In the meantime he’s living his best life with his buddy Penny out in pasture.  Those two adore each other and mess around all day long.  It’s good for Kyle because he forgets about his soreness and moves around a lot.

May 2022. Kyle was adopted by Spencer P. and is now a lesson and trail horse after being trained by AJ Perry Horsemanship.
