Description: This is by far the largest Thoroughbred we have ever had in our program. He came to us on December 1, 2014, extremely neglected and underweight with poor feet condition. He was in such pain as he walked off the trailer from severely neglected feet. With immediate attention from the farrier, he walked normally. He had a body score of 2 on a scale of 9. Elwood has a remarkable personality that has engaged all that have met him. With his terrific build and height we are expecting him to show us quite a bit of talent once he regains his strength and muscle tone. Elwood also boosts some exceptional pedigree and is a true blueblood along both lines of his family. He only raced three times and his last race was in 2009 so he is about 6 years away from any former track life.

April 2015 Update: We are ecstatic with the progress of High & Mighty. Thanks to GastroBalance by EnviroEquine and Wild Gold, High & Mighty’s coat condition, weight, feet, and digestion are healthy. He is truly healthy from the inside out. High & Mighty has begun his under saddle training. He is building muscle and a topline. Yay! Finally! He has a can-do attitude and is a willing and very capable partner. No spook, no buck, just a really big boy with a heart as big as Texas. This is one special horse who will continue to thrive in his new career. High & Mighty is certainly green, but he has a fantastic mind and is a quick learner. This horse will go places.

June 2015 Update: It is with great pleasure that we announce the adoption of High & Mighty. This big guy has captured our hearts with his large size, big heart, and gentle nature. There is nothing quite like an almost 18 hh horse following you around like a puppy in the turn out. Sitting on him bareback, rubbing his neck, nothing phases this goofy guy. June S. saw his pictures, saw his video and fell in love. Her first call with us, she could barely speak from excitement. High and Mighty reminded her of her old boy that passed away. She was finally ready to open her heart to a horse and the likeness was uncanny. High & Mighty is moving to Alaska to continue his training as a low level dressage horse and to spend the summers on the trails in the great wilderness.
