Description: This is a great big gelding, standing at over 17.1 hands. Stayo bowed both tendons in his race at Golden Gate Fields. He will be in rehab at Los Laureles Equine Rehab & Therapy Center for a good long while but should make a complete recovery due to the excellent physical therapy modalities offered there. His rehab period started in mid-October and we will be updating his page periodically. He has a very fine and notable pedigree.
January 7, 2014: Excellent progress report from Los Laureles. Stayo is responding well to his treatments and he has been able to graduate to being in a small paddock.
March 2015: Stayo has been adopted! Laura and Kristi, who recently adopted Henry, fell in love with this big boy and his goofy personality. Laura will continue the undersaddle portion of his rehab. The vet has been out to see him in his new home. Things are going great and Stayo is finally settling in to a non-racehorse program. This boy will go places. We can’t wait to hear about his progress.
