Description:  Swiss Mystress and Sierra Lane were part of an 11 horse breeding dispersal.  We are happy to report that Neigh Savers worked together with three other rescues and all 11 horses are safe at this time.

Four of the mares are pregnant and Neigh Savers committed to two of the pregnant mommas as they are most at risk.

Swiss Mystress was born in 2003 and was bred on 5/25/2017.  Sierra Lane was born in 2004 and was bred on 4/25/2017.  Both are carrying foals by Run Brother Run.

Update Sept 2018:   We must bid a tearful farewell to Sierra Lane, dam of Sierra Rain. This is the last picture I took of her a couple of weeks before her passing and it makes me sad.

We knew Sierra was in bad shape when we took her in. We were hoping that a good diet and excellent medical care would help her. She was sadly, always in pain, the vet told us, and her pain was increasingly incrementally. She had a very bad hind ankle and it exploded several times. We are grateful she made it through her pregnancy, although she never could hold good weight.

Her baby boy, Sierra Rain, was born prematurely during a wild rain storm, but lived. He is a delicate baby and has been through some severe medical issues of his own. As fate decided, little Rainy had just been weaned when we, along with our vet, made the difficult but correct decision to let Sierra Lane go and run free once again. Please say a prayer for her and for her baby boy. Rainy is with the other weanlings now and is adjusting.
