Description: Hav A Fit (Dottie) is an unraced mare just rescued at Mike’s Auction on October 10, 2015. Dottie appears to be in good weight and adequate muscle tone for a horse not in training.

We rescued Dottie from Mike’s Auction in October 2015. She was purchased for $310. She is currently in quarantine and will be evaluated as a riding horse once her quarantine period is complete.

Update August 2016: We are pleased to report that our elegant lady Hav a Fit, the worst name ever for such a peaceful and kind soul, (Dottie) has been humanely retired to our friends at Humanity for Horses.  Despite all of our efforts and various strategies for shoeing plus a lengthy rehab period, we could not keep Dottie sound for long when being worked and then ridden.  HFH and Neigh Savers seem to have a mutual admiration society and we’ll engage in a bit of boosting here as our friends from HFH write:  “This note is to let you know that your mare came in looking fantastic. We are proud of the way our thoroughbreds look here but nothing looks any better than the mare you sent; it shows what wonderful care you give. Thank You and be assured we will continue with the excellent care you have been giving her.”
The top photo of Dottie with the purple lead rope was taken upon her arrival at Humanity for Horses on August 2, 2016.
