Description:   This personable and EXTREMELY WELL BRED gelding injured his knee and was immediately retired from racing and donated to us.  Good Deal’s sire is champion race horse Smart Strike and Smart Strike’s stud fee is $100,000 so we are talking about a very expensive horse.  We rarely get horses with these blood lines on both sides of the family.  There is no substitute for class.  Good Deal has been cleared to return to work and is doing well. He has been restarted under saddle and is being trail ridden all over the ranch. He has a calm demeanor and easy going temperament. Good Deal would be ideal for a trail riding or pleasure riding home.

June 2015 Update: Looking for a great trail companion? Good Deal is your guy. He has been lovely under saddle and has been enjoying his time trail riding all over his ranch. Good Deal’s knee is healed, but has some arthritic changes in his right front ankle. He is very well suited to be a trail or pleasure riding horse.

September 2015 Update: We are thrilled to announce the adoption of both Good Deal and Laguna Salada to Ixchel M. Ixchel and her two daughters live on a beautiful ranch in Jamul, CA. The whole family rides competitively as hunter and jumper riders. Ixchel, a veterinarian, wanted to give a retired racehorse a home and provide them with love, TLC, and some trail riding. These horses are already spoiled. Ixchel reports that both Good Deal and Laguna Salada are well adjusted into her menagerie of creatures and that they have each paired up with their own friend.
