Description: Diane was being used as a recipient mare. She ended up with a perineal laceration. Because she was no longer useful as a recipient mare, Diane was to be sold to the kill buyer. We purchased her for a mere $150.  Through the generous support of our donors, we were able to send Diane to Dr. Rick at Alamo Pintado Equine Hospital for surgery. She came through the surgical procedures well and is ready to begin her career as a sporthorse. Other than never being able to be used as a recipient mare, there are no lasting affects from her injury.

She’s a very nicely put together mare and a good mover. We expect she will make a nice show quality horse. Diane is being ridden in the ring and is going down the trails. Shauna Pennell, Hunter/Jumper trainer, states that she is an incredibly kind and willing horse who is uncomplicated and a pleasure to be around.  Her legs appear clean and she moves soundly. May 2014 Update: Diane has been adopted by long time Neigh Savers friend Julie G. Diane will be living in Flagstaff, Arizona. She will help teach little girls to ride over the summer and will be a best friend and trail companion to Julie’s step-son. Diane has found herself a most wonderful and loving home.
