Raise Your Wings
Raise Your Wings is an unraced mare foaled in 1996. She briefly was sent to the track
but suffered a bow tendon in a training accident and was retired. This 13 year old mare
has been a broodmare for some years but will now be retired to start another life.
She is saddle broke, completely sound and has a beautiful fluid gait. At present, she is a bit thin as she is nursing
a foal (shown in photo). Wings has a beautiful and gentle personality as well. She has
been well cared for at Kimberlee Farms in Somis, CA and owner Kim is looking for a good
home for her. She will be ready to be moved around August 2009. Raise Your Wings has some
stellar breeding through Raise a Native and Northern Dancer.
Update - September 2009
The immediately renamed Gracie has just arrived at her home in the Long Beach area. The last photo shows Gracie with her new companion Treena. Gracie is a kind
mare but it does usually take her a bit of time to warm up to someone new. This was not the case with Treena as shown in the last photo...it truly
was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT for both of them. Treena and her partner Terri came out to Kimberlee Farms to look at several horses but Gracie decided she wanted
to go home with Treena immediately. Treena will give Gracie a forever home and will spoil her with love and attention. This is the kind of
happy ending we wish for all of our horses. In the past Gracie had been rescued and moved from place to place several
times. We look forward to updates and photos. For now Treena reports the following: "Raise Your Wings is now in her new home, and I think she likes it. I know I love having her !!!! She is such a sweet mare, and I am so pleased that I was connected to her through the organization.
Both Nicole and Kim have been so wonderful to us and has made the adoption process a great experience. I appreciate all the time and energy that they have put in for us both.
