Summer Society
This beautiful gray six year old gelding is by the great sire Siberian Summer and out of
the mare My Phoebe.
He is incredibly personable and kind and we were impressed by his eye.
Unfortunately Summer has not been
very successful as a racer, mainly due to the fact that he needs wider turns and the
tight turns at his current track at Los Alamitos do not suit him according to his trainer.
He has been completely xrayed and the vet has not found anything wrong with him. He does
appear to be a bit downhill but we see nothing that would not prevent him from amateur showing
or as a great riding or Western pleasure horse.
Summer was given some time off and then returned to the track for two more races in which
he placed third and fifth respectively. We will be rehoming him to our foster facility at
Kimberlee Farms in Somis, CA in the next few weeks (around July 1, 2009).
Update - June 2009
Summer has been adopted by Sara who works with recovering cancer patients. Summer will be a therapy
horse in Sara's program. We know that with Summer's excellent personality and good looks that he
will give hope and joy to anyone who is lucky enough to work with him. Congratulations Summer Society and thank
you so much Sara.
