Sigfreto

Sigfreto is one of racing's kings.....a champion and professional horse, classy and smart and focused.  Sigfreto always stood a bit above the rest of the pack and not only due to his nearly pure white coat and size of 16.4 hh but because of his grace and bearing. 

Sigfreto had an incredible 68 starts in his career with 18 wins, 4 places and 12 shows. This eleven year old gelding by Spunky Rascal and grandfather Devil's Bag does have a bit of the spunk, rascal and devil in him and was labeled the "smartest horse in the barn" by his former caregivers at Sunny Farm. 

After being claimed by trainer Bob Hess, Sr. Sigfreto unfortunately fractured his rear leg in a training accident requiring experimental surgery with plates and screws.  He also has a hairline fracture in one of his front legs.  Although Mr. Hess had Sigfreto in rehab, it was time for Sigfreto to start his retirement and it is a well earned one as he himself brought in almost $600,000 in earnings at the track.  Because Sigfreto cannot be ridden for fear of reinjuring himself he was sent to a permanent retirement facility and is under their sponsorship.
