It's Slow Secret (Click here for Past Performances)

It's Slow Secret is a tremendous athlete who has had 33 starts with 5 wins, 7 places and 4 shows. This bay gelding was born on May 4, 2003 making him six years old. He has an excellent pedigree having been sired by Sea of Secrets whose father was Storm Cat. On his father's side he also boasts Storm Bird, Terlingua and Mr. Prospecter as well as Secretariat. On his dam's side you will find Hoist the Flag and Bold Ruler.

Nicole traveled to Los Alamitos to visit It's Slow Secret and filed this report:

"This guy was also really kind. None of Dominic's horses look deranged. Secret seemed to be very alert and aware of his his surroundings. He used to be fast but has slowed down. The owner gave up on him after he stopped being fast and somehow cut the inside part of his right hind by the fetlock/pastern. The vet sutured it up and 2 days later was infected. This is when the owner gave up. Dominic agreed to feed and care for the horse and the vet felt bad and covered the medical expenses. The previous 4 inch gash is considerably smaller and almost completely gone. There is no lameness from this. His hind ankles seemed a little scarred, but Dominic does not have any knowledge of issues with them. This guy does not trot straight behind, but does not appear to interfere either."

This horse will only require a transitional rest period as he is not injured. He is wonderful prospect for evaluation of nearly every discipline equine.

Secret is going to be a training racer at a jockey school! Congratulations Secret for being chosen to help aspiring jockeys learn the trade. Secret just decided he didn't want to race as competitively as he needed to but is still plenty fast and spunky. He is coming off track 97.5% sound according to trainer Dominic Fama.
